42 Thousand citizens come for Qingming Rites

 

    Some 420,000 passengers were start off from Suzhou during the first official Qingming holiday, from 4 to 6 April. On 16th December last year, the State Council revised the nation's official holiday schedule to add three traditional festivals -- Qingming, Duanwu and Zhongqiu -- in response to public calls. During the holidays this year, 185,000 passengers were sent out by rail and 235,000 by bus from Suzhou. The number of Shanghai residents visiting their dead folk' tombs in Suzhou saw a day-to-day decrease in the three days, from 23,000 to 14,000 and to 9,000. Relative authorities say that the peak season of rail transportation will last until 18 April.

    清明三天发客42万人

    首个清明小长假结束了，记者从苏州铁路、公路客运部门了解到，4月4日至4月6日，苏州火车站的发客总量达185000人，苏州汽车总站的发客总量约为23.5万人，苏州市区的发客总量约为42万人。

    小长假三天，苏州站到达的上海扫墓客陆续减少，相继从第一天的23000人，下降到第二天的14000人、第三天的9000人。铁路管理人员透露春季铁路运输高潮将持续到4月18日。
